CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Here in Albesta Academy, all students are encouraged to take active part in co-curricular activities. The co-curricular activities are geared towards the enhancement of the students’ social interactions, leadership skills, healthy recreation, self-discipline and self-confidence.

There are however, the performing arts, sports, clubs and societies, uniformed groups and student associations. Under each of these, a student is given the room to make his own choice(s) depending on his interest in the scope of co-curricular activities categorized below:

  • Red Cross Society
  • Literary and Debating Society
  • Drama Club
  • Press Club
  • Girls Guide and Boys Brigade
  • Boys Scout
  • JETS Club

Trips

Excursion is organized regularly for students to places of interest both within and outside the country. Among the places recently visited are:
  • Obafemi Awolowo Museum, Lekki
  • National Conservation Garden
  • Zoological Garden, University of Ibadan
  • La Campagne Tropicana
  • French Village, Cotonou (Rep. Du Benin)

Religious Activities

The school is one that upholds high spiritual and moral standards. Spirit-filled services, held in the school’s  multi-purpose hall every Sunday. Students are taught series of Sunday School  Bible Lessons which cater for their spiritual needs.

In addition, students are treated to an inspiring and edifying worship of God. This is always accompanied with the playing of various musical instruments. Further still, Bible studies and Association of visiting secretaries (AVS) meetings are held on Wednesdays and Fridays respectively. Students are also allowed to conduct morning assemblies so as to ensure that they are up and doing in religious activities.

Open day

A day is chosen in a term to be an open day. It’s a day where parents are welcomed to meet their children and their class and subject teachers together and have access to their notebooks, projects and to monitor children’s performances.
